Performance-Tipp: Nach Migration AIX 5.2L + DB2 UDB V8.1

Hallo zusammen,

nach der Umstellung von AIX 4.3.3 und DB2 V7.2 (EE) nach AIX 5.2L und DB2 V8.1 traten bei einem SAP R/3 Anwender Performance-Probleme auf.

Diese konnten nach aufwendigen Analysen mit ein paar PTF's und File System Einstellungen beseitigt werden:

Customer is running 5.2 ML01 32 bit kernel, backing up from/to jfs
filesystems on SAN. 3x fold increase in backup time after moving from
AIX 433/DB2 v7.2 to AIX 52/DB2 v8.1 all other things being constant.

Suggestions:
1) Apply performance APARS IY51569, IY45430

2) Disable complex locking, to increase read ahead performance
In particular this has been shown to increase read performance for
(needs IY45430)
ioo -p -o jfs_use_read_lock=0
ioo -p -o jfc_clread_enabled=1

3) Increase fsbufs due to high number of waits for fsbufs. You need to
the filesystems for this to take effect.
umount
ioo -p -o numfsbufs=372
mount
