What’s New in DB2 9 for z/OS for Backup and Recovery White paper
Abstract
This presentation discusses the new backup and recovery features in DB2® for z/OS® Version 9.1. The presentation discusses the DB2 managed FlashCopy solution in Version 8 and the new copy pool enhancements, including managing copy pool backups to tapes, using copy pool backups as the source for DB2 table and index recovery, and features of incremental FlashCopy.
The presentation also discusses restart enhancements, including how to extend RECOVER utility to support point-in-time recovery with transaction level consistency, and how to rollback uncommitted changes.
