Follow an end-to-end data replication scenario from native Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) files to IBM® DB2® Universal Database (DB2 UDB) for z/OS® using IBM WebSphere® Classic Replication Server for z/OS, IBM WebSphere Replication Server for z/OS, and IBM WebSphere MQ® for z/OS.
Overview
Data replication can be used for many business functions, such as migration, workload balancing, and monitoring. This document describes an end-to-end scenario using a single business case as an example, and does not cover the installation of the products. It is assumed that IBM WebSphere Classic Replication Server for z/OS, IBM WebSphere Replication Server for z/OS, IBM WebSphere MQ for z/OS, and Classic Data Architect
(CDA) are already installed.
Topics covered include:
Configure the name service
Configure the data server
Start the data server
Generate control table mappings
Define user table mappings
Create WebSphere MQ objects
Create Q Apply control tables
Define MQ capture parameters
Create subscriptions
Configure the Q Apply program and load
Configure the native VSAM change-capture agent Run replication
P.S. Please pass my address to anyone interested in DB2 HOTLINE - thank you.
