Abstract

DB2® for OS/390® and z/OS®, Version 7 introduced Unicode support. Version 8 uses Unicode as its native encoding. This presentation gives a brief overview of Unicode and DB2 character conversion, and then compares the Unicode support in Version 7 with the Unicode support in Version 8. This presentation provides the basic Unicode knowledge that you need as you migrate to Version 8.
