What is System-managed and User-managed Duplexing?

Abstract
System-managed duplexing of coupling facility structures is now available in the parallel sysplex environment. This new capability of z/OS provides new recovery capability to the parallel sysplex environment, and in particular to DB2 data sharing. This presentation discusses the history of duplexing (in particular, group buffer pool duplexing), how system-managed and user-managed duplexing work, and the considerations for choosing either or both for a particular parallel system environment.
